What Happens After We Receive Your Gown

Once your gown arrives at the preservation facility, it's assigned a unique serial number and undergoes a thorough inspection for stains, hemline soiling, and loose beading. That serial number lets you follow your gown's progress every step of the way. Once cleaning is complete, your gown is carefully packed and shipped back to you with a 100-year certificate guaranteeing it against future yellowing or staining, ready to become a treasured heirloom for generations to come. Preservation typically takes 2 to 8 weeks from the day your gown arrives, unless you've selected Rush Service.

Every gown receives the same meticulous care. We begin with a detailed inspection to locate every stain, documented step-by-step in a full Quality Control Report. Using proven cleaning formulas, including specialized treatment for sugar and champagne stains, we clean your gown thoroughly by hand, paying extra attention to the neckline, trim, and hemline. Your gown is then carefully shaped, fitted with a full bust form, and the sleeves are filled to preserve its structure. From there, it's wrapped in unbleached muslin and placed in a premium preservation chest with an acid-free display window, then sealed inside a shipping carton rated to withstand 700 pounds of pressure. Your gown ships back to you prepaid anywhere in the continental United States via UPS Ground, with the full process typically completed within 2 to 8 weeks of arrival.
